How to choose the right tablecloth size?

A standard size table is about 70 to 75 cm high. You then have to check the length and width of your table to define the final size of your tablecloth, according to your desires to fall it:

- short fall (informal tables, or with many guests): about 20 to 25 cm (so add 40 to 50 cm to the size of the table to get the desired size)

- normal fall: about 35 to 40 cm (add 70 to 80 cm)

- fallen long (marriage and holiday tables): 50 cm and more (add 1m). Be careful, however, not to abuse good things: a tablecloth too long will drag on the ground, and it would be a shame if a guest would waltz all the dishes while walking on the tablecloth...
